🌿 Calling all homeschooling families who share a passion for nature and science-based learning! 🌿

West Suburban Homeschool Nature Group (WSHNG) is a non-profit homeschool cooperative in the west suburbs of Chicago. As a group, we work together to ensure our children are learning and growing together in nature. It is our belief that homeschooling as a group should be accessible to everyone, which is why our get togethers are free or as low-cost as possible. We understand the flexibility that homeschooling offers, so our meet-ups are designed to accommodate varying schedules. Whether you can join us weekly or as your schedule permits, you're welcome to be part of our vibrant community of nature enthusiasts.

Wednesdays

10:30am: Small groups, reading, nature journal, and craft/activity following a nature-based theme for the week. *Optional: Follow along in the educational book we are using for that semester. Read the relevant chapter prior to attending in order to enrich the homeschool experience.

Thursdays

11:00am: Group nature hike, nature scavenger hunts, socialization, learning, and FUN! Our goal is to explore every forest preserve in DuPage County.

Fridays

Reserved for field trips. Our goal is to offer 1-2 free or small-fee field trips per month.

**Please note, for the winter semester only, Co-Op & Nature Group will meet bi-weekly on Thursdays.

The WSHNG Annual Membership fee is $20 per family for the entire year!

If you are not a WSHNG member, a $5 fee will be added to each transaction (events/outing, merchandise) to assist with covering WSHNG's operation expenses. Non-members will still have access to the Facebook page.

Chicago West Suburban Homeschool Nature Group (WSHNG) is a federal not for profit organization. It is our belief that homeschooling programs and cooperatives should be accessible to everyone. Using generous donations allows us to offer more educational opportunities at an affordable cost to our participating families. No amount is too small.
